Minutes of the mission to Bruxelles of the Croatian delegation during the European Week of Regions and Cities

The Istrian delegation of 14 people participated on 10th European week of regions and cities in Bruxelles – "Open days".

The delegation consisted of people from

  • AZRRI - Agency for Rural Development of Istria Ltd. Pazin
  • School of tourism, catering and trade – Pula
  • School for professional education Eugen Kumičić – Rovinj
  • Secondary school for tourism and catering “Anton Štifanić” – Poreč
  • Administrative Department for agriculture, forestry, hunting and water management of Istria Region;
  • Istrian ham producers
  • HRT.

Participants arrived to Bruxelles in the early afternoon on 9th October 2012 and visited of the European Commission – DG AGRI. The representative of DG AGRI presented to Istrian delegation the procedure of getting the PDO and PGI under the European Union rules.

On 10th October 2012, at the Istrian Region's site in Bruxelles (Rue du Commerce 49), the whole Istrian delegation participated at an event about Istrian prosciutto (Istarski pršut) -  the first Croatian PDO product on EU gateway where Blanka Sinčić Pulić - Senior Associate for the protection and valorisation of local products from Administrative Department for agriculture, forestry, hunting and water management of Istria Region, held a presentation on the same theme. Within the event of Istrian prosciutto presentation, also was presented AZRRI's project KEY Q.

On 10th October 2012, at Molise Region's Liason office in Bruxelles (Rue de Toulouse 47 ) the Dissemination event about KEY Q project took place.

The whole Istrian delegation, together with our italian project partner Vocational Training Centre „Opera Villaggio del Fanciullo“ represented by  Massimo Tierno – Director, Alessandro Favento – Project coordinator, Benito Colmani – Chef, and our project associate Central Vocational Training School (SCF) represented by Giovanni Zonin – National Director of SCF (Scuola Centrale Formazione – Central Vocational Training School) and Lorena Sassi – Project manager, participated on Dissemination event – presentation of a KEY Q project.

Contributions are presented in the relevant piece of news.

On the end of the event a degustation of some typical Croatian and Italian PDO and PGI products was organized (products from Croatia – Istria Region, products from Italy – Region of Emilia Romagna, Friuli Venezia Giulia Region, Marche Region and Region of Molise).

Later, all the participants have visited European Parlament.
